In this Creative AI and Devil’s Advocate Project, I explore the co-re-creation of real photos from real humans using Artificial Intelligence. These photos are considered “core memories” by myself and my closest friends, to which we ascribe substantial meaning and depth.
I sought to find out—how does AI perceive, analyze, and recreate the texture of memories? Humans are able to recall memories dynamically and assign (or remove) shifting meanings. AI does not have human contexts and reasoning, but it is trained on millions of these images daily. While popular and refined images and faces dominate the training dataset—and therefore the results—what happens to the less popular ones we created ourselves, brimming with meaning, roughness, and originality?
All photos were uploaded to CLIP Interrogator 2 to generate prompts. Prompts and photos were uploaded to OpenArt.ai to generate new images. Click on each photo to see the process in detail.
